Want to learn more about our church? Here are some commonly asked questions to get you started.

No, while most of our members dress on the casual side of business-casual, everything from t-shirts and shorts to tuxedos are welcome! 

Contact the minister. The process looks slightly different depending on the person’s circumstances. Generally, we will have a new members’ class and briefly learn about the United Church of Christ denomination and our church specifically. At a later date we invite you to the front of the church so you can affirm your faith in front of the community and state your intention to join the church. Then the congregation commits to supporting you as a member of the community. 

We use grape juice. While some traditions use wine or offer both, we would rather lean on the side of being more accessible to those in recovery or sensitive/allergic to alcohol. Similarly, we offer gluten free wafers along with traditional bread. 

Yes! We have several members that are unable to eat gluten so we offer gluten free wafers along with traditional bread. While we can’t guarantee there is no cross-contamination, we do take precautions to help prevent it from happening. 

No. We celebrate communion together the first Sunday of every month along with some additional special services like Maundy Thursday. 

Yes! While our church has not gone through the technical process of becoming Open and Affirming, in practice and theology we reflect that of officially Open and Affirming churches and broadly represents the commitment of the national United Church of Christ church body to invite LGBTQ+ people into the full inclusion of the church. We currently have LGBTQ+ members that participate in all levels of church life. You can go here to learn more about LGBTQ+ ministries that national church body practices.
